(05-11-2020, 09:06 AM)crazyfamily Wrote: [ -> ]Your sincerity was apparently undermined when you cited all of these people living to 100. Additionally, the title of the thread, I Will Start Worrying About Fenn’s Health In 15 Years If I Am Still Alive, minimizes the threat to older Americans.

You’re saying that I misread your thread which was actually attempting to highlight the severity of the virus. If this is true, then my apologies to you.

That’s the trouble with your self-edited, self-published work.

Granted I'm not a professional writer and almost all of my posts are hasty first or second drafts with the bulk of my editing being limited to going back to correct typo's and missing words. I don't know why, but often I fail to transcribe some words to the keyboard when I am typing a stream of thought. It gets worse when I leave out important words like "not".

If you are not sure what my intentions were/are, then why not ask me before attacking me out of hand? Usually, someone will message me when my name is invoked somewhere and link me to the reference. I like to think of my online friends like that as my "network of spies" Big Grin

The motivation for that thread is I happened to run across Curly's latest interview and thought I would share it because he is such a wonderful good dude and lived the life of a total badass and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. It was nice to see he is doing good in spite of the Coronavirus after getting his car back that was stolen earlier this year.

And it bothers me when I see videos and posts made by searchers who are concerned Forrest may leave us any day now. Many people live past 100 years old and most who do were tough in their youth, badass tough. If anyone I know deserves to join the Centurian Club, it's Forrest Fenn.

And to those who would write him off so quickly, I would say two things, never underestimate Forrest Fenn and worry about your own fate as tomorrow isn't promised to any of us.

I don't worry much about what I will do when Forrest rides west, I worry more about what Forrest will do if I ride west first. I can't even quarantine unless I am diagnosed positive, I have to work in spite of the risks which I can accept, I had to work during the Anthrax attacks too, wondering if I would be exposed to it or not. I wasn't. What bothers me though is that I might infect others, especially my own family before I have any symptoms and know to take extra precautions because I am contagious.

Even so, in stressful times like these, it is most important to keep a positive and optimistic attitude. Not just for mental health, but for physical health as well. The thread in question was intended to be upbeat and positive while pointing out that we must remain vigilant and cautious about our exposure risks to the Corona.
Thanks for clarifying. Again, my apologies.

The way you went after GFD, and with the baggage I have at Harry’s, I was ready for a throw down. I just made a wrong assumption about your intent.

Although we have not met in person, I consider Guy From Denver a friend, a good dude, someone I respect, and someone who knows I'm just ribbing him and not seriously attacking him. And even if I were, how important is the origins of a college song that is over 150 years old in the larger scope of things?

I first learned about the Chase in Jan of 2018. I didn't join the Chase forum world until August of 2018 AFTER I had failed at my first BOTG search attempts.

Most of the serious "Chase Forum Wars" drama was long past by that point in time. In searcher terms, I belong to the "Next Batch Grouping of Searchers" who were not around when that Chase Forum Nuclear Armageddon went down, I'm a post-forum-apocalypse searcher.

Yet, I am still treated with suspicion in every Chase forum I am a member of as if I am an enemy agent sent to infiltrate and spy or something. It's simply not my war. But I do understand all sides, as well as any one objective person, can.

Harry's exists because the core members there were purged with permanent bans from this forum. The reasons don't really matter to me, who's fault this and who's fault that... I wasn't around for any of that.

The only person I have ever seriously traded forum post blows with over there is Larsonist. Lars has nailed me with many good licks, and we seem to be in a contest to determine who the meanest person is Lars or me. My experience has always been that it is not one's ability to dish out punishment that makes one the most formidable, it's one's ability to take more punishment than one's opponent can dish out that wins the most fights.

And that's a part of the problem with society in general today, there are too many people who are too fragile, too easily offended, and can't stand on their own two feet without the aid of some authority intervening for them. Well, I've bad news for the pansies and snowflakes of this world, people with authority are inevitably eventually going to abuse that authority. And while those in authority might defend you today, they will eventually turn on you and victimize you unjustly.

Yes, we all need some help from time to time. We can't pave the roads ourselves, but we should never surrender more of our personal liberties and authority to our government than the minimums required or you get the abuses we see today. And it doesn't matter who the abusers are, Obama or Trump, the point my fellow Americans is that someone's lying to us all the way up to the President and on down. They have just polarized it to the point of splitting us up as strongly and as vehemently as they did just before our Second American Revolutionary War of Succession that failed and resulted in the victors calling it a Civil War. I have a problem with the term "Civil War." There is NOTHING civil about war or revolution.

But that is exactly what happened in this forum a couple of years before I first learned about the Chase. A REVOLUTION occurred, and then the Chase Forums Civil War began, only like all "civil wars" it is conducted the exact opposite of what is civil. And skirmishes and flare-ups continue to this day.

From my perspective, it makes me feel like I'm Clint Eastwood in the Good The Bad and the Ugly. In the Branston Bridge scene where Clint is on his way with Tuco to search for treasure in the graveyard but they are confronted with the battle lines on each side of that bridge drawn by the Union forces trying to defend the bridge and the Confederates attacking twice per day to try to capture it.

That scene sequence starts here:

Continues here:

And skips some parts before concluding here:

They were banned for the same reason I was (I broke the forum rules); the only difference - I didn't cry and whine for three years after, while creating fake aliases trying to start a forum war.

Hey LM, I thought I flushed you down into the Hairy sewer already, you back to get your ignorant dumb@ss brainwashed attitude adjusted? lol

PS Hey Seeker9 Carole definitely fed her husband to the tigers!

What do you mean am I back? I never left.

I'm the one who has been waiting here for you to do your time and come back.

For YOU to adjust my attitude, we will need to meet in person.

My real name is Michael Nodine and I am in the Atlanta/North Georgia area. You can Google me or use any of those free information sites to find my addresses. Heck, I'm even in those online databases of federal government employees. And that's really my pic in my avatar. I'm really not that hard to find and if you need some gas money to come visit me, let me know and I'll break you off a few bucks.

I don't hide behind anonymous aliases because I'm not a coward hiding from anyone and what I say online I will say to your face.

Our biggest problem is that you have to work hard at appearing to be a mean and vicious person, and I have to work even harder to NOT be like that.

Were you ever or are you now even an active searcher?

Hey Mikey you know those guys with really small penes that buy extra big pickup trucks? Same goes for those who write run-on verbose know-it-all forum posts.

It has been what two years you have been here? And I have yet to see you post anything about clue meaning. I place your odds of solving the poem at ZERO. Now, if you really want to move your chances into positive territory, you need to stop blabbing about self-promoting crap nobody cares about and start listening and debating clues.

It's not the size of the penetrator that's as important as the size of the holes one is capable of penetrating with it.

I deleted all of those "clue meaning" posts last year when I learned the truth of this forum's ugly history.

Oh, I'm listening alright. Don't think I'm not. I'm always on the lookout for reasons why I am wrong.

What is there to debate about the clues? Everyone is only speculating about them and everyone is wrong until the chest proves someone is correct. I may not get to search this year. Are you volunteering to go search some of my solves for me?
We’re gonna go back probably mid-June to tie up some loose ends. Might go to the other side of the canyon and look back, there’s a nice blaze on top that needs a look. That’s about it.

Nobody wants to go all the way to Georgia to fight you. Grow up. ( The most immature person in the chase just told you to grow up) Smile

Hey Seeker9 good to hear from you again, I drop by rarely to see if CF and you are hanging a proper beating on Lurker (NFL draft was a good one this year!) and yes Lurker needs to paint on a few more layers of dura-skin, he is way too easy to spin up (read phallically challenged)

Like I said before, I exported him to Hairy Sewer house because that is the ultimate final resting place for the thin-skinners.

Come visit me and I'll show it to you. I promise it will feel a lot bigger than it looks.

Prove me wrong.

Cue the banjos boys, company is a coming!
