He looked at me like I was on crack and said I was "nit-picking". IMO, they are not hints. Once again, this is an example of "so many searchers stomping on the ants while the elephants run by." IMO.

I don’t have a problem with nit-picking and I would probably call him something like that too. Still doesn’t explain why Frosty.

dessert and remove an "s".
Yeah, that’s a little hint.

What’s fired in the desert? Pottery.

What's glass made from?
What does glass have to do with Frosty?

mirror or bathroom glass; reflect or hide?

Why don’t you tell me what he meant by subtle hints sprinkled...or excellent research materials...or the hints in the book can help with the clues...or my thrill of the chase book is enough to lead the average searcher to the treasure chest.

I do not understand how "subtle hints sprinkled" morphed into a "backstory" for TTOTC. I never said there were no hints in the book or that what I found wasnt helpful in my search. I agree with Cynthia; IMO, you are "stomping on ants while the elephants run by".

If Forrest’s book is nothing but awe-shucks stories, why did he need to change Old Fred’s name to Frosty.

Please don’t say because of the freezer; Forrest was fired in the dessert section.

I don't want to play this game. I will say (1)I have answers to many of these sorts of questions and (2)my answers don't require stories.
Anyone else?

If you miss the point of what he has written, how can you find the hints?

They might be "hints" to you, but that does not mean that Fenn meant them to be hints to the clues. Your interpretation is not necessarily "the" answer.
