For many years now, I have hoped the blaze was something like this (minus maybe the Staff of Ra):

Am I crazy?

mm
No.

IMO, it is probably the day. “Begin it where warm waters halt” describes the sun rising over the mountains.

We found a fabulous blaze made by the sun that ultimately was just a shadow there and nothing more. It is still awesome in the true sense of the word.

That one was pretty cool!
imo it depends if you want the blaze to be something of a spectacular nature

or something that is practical and feasible to decipher as part of a puzzle

certain things are only portrayed in movies for a reason
What would you be waiting for as the sun went behind a cloud...I mean, you’d just been fired.

Exactly. Same concept, but in Mr. Fenn’s special spot to point to it.

That’s exactly how I would do it.

Also, let’s not forget, he wrote an article from the perspective of the mother of Indiana Jones.

Of course, that would mean you’re screwed for the year on a cloudy day.

Someday I’ll go back to my blaze and have another look around. Just in case I missed something.

You may have followers, bring extra sandwiches.

No, but that isnt the blaze. It is, "tarry scant with marvel gaze."

His comment that you won’t find it on spring break or Easter seem to create a special problem for the finder. Those dates are close to the vernal equinox, but does that mean that you can’t find it on the autumnal equinox as well?

My question following those comments was, what if in 200 years you’d done all the work and you were ready to retrieve the chest, could you still not find it on Easter? Why?

I’m always surprised how some searchers describe seeing other searchers when they’re out on their BOTG excursions. There’s no way that searchers are crawling all over the spot. Now, I have seen footprints in a place that it is unlikely for anyone to have gone unless they were doing something funny like searching for a treasure. We’ve never seen another person at the locations we’ve searched.
