No chips, eh? Did you read Mr. Magic's thread? Lots of chips in that one, Madame Chef, lots of denigration of posters and their intelligence.

Many people believe that only two clues from the poem have been solved and that four US States are still ‘in the game’.

I’m confident of all nine clues, all nine answers, the decryption basis and method, one National Forest in one US State, the right starting co-ordinates, the right geographical directions up to a lake.

What I’m unsure about is the geographical directions after this lake.

So I've said this equates to a percentage figure remaining to be solved of ~ 5% of the total.

And here I thought the clues get easier as you work your way to the TC. Maybe The White Knight forgot about that one.

All things considered, knowing he couldn't return from whence he came, he may have deferred, and simply studied the canyon down while enjoying what was left of his adventure. You never know until you know, and then who knows? I don't think anyone's solve is 100% until they're really wet. I know my last solve was rushed along, but has continued to evolve since my last trip. Personally, I don't care if my solve is 10% correct. I just love being there. But don't ask where...

I'm not a chef, but I was told by a true chef once "you're a pretty good cook" What I meant to say was - being that you're a chef, maybe this would help. Sorry for the confusion. Smile

I just hope Mr. Briggs has a good solve for all the attention he's getting. 95% is better than I've been able to put together.

Phoenix, stop paying attention to these over-inflated egos that post here, male and female. Mr. Briggs knows nothing. He's looking in Montana/Wyoming because that's where many of Forrest's childhood stories take place. Being British, Briggs doesn't know any other geography than that. He knows nothing. Not 95%. Not 5%. He's 100% lost in his own reputation. Now go make a grilled cheese sandwich and stop worrying. You now know more than Briggs does.
