When the chest is found, how many searchers are going to say that they already looked where it was found?

It's going to be a freeking zoo. The finder is going to be besieged failed searchers and opportunistic scammers who will claim they all somehow had something to do with getting the finder to the treasure and are deserving of some or all of it. There will be lawsuits. (Don't doubt me.) There may be probably will be violence. There may be suicides. The chase will not end well if it ends soon. There are too many unstable, desperate, greedy people in it right now. It may be for the best if it goes on for 10000 years.

Cats and dogs, living together. A complete apocalypse!

(although I agree, use caution)

My Fear medicine is my Glock, like a teddy bear it helps me sleep comfortably at night... My large German Shepard snores but I accept it since she sleeps always with one eye open to protect her family.

The same type of threats could be said for people that win $100 million dollar Lottery Jackpots. I don't think it will be mayhem like you think, It will be a shock and a jolt initially then it will die down just like everything else. You may have to dread dealing with your own greedy family members and long lost cousin Eddie wanting a piece of the prize. It's just like Fenn mentioned in an interview that some no name mentioned attorney contacted him regarding some legal threat concerning his Chest..Where is this country going? and where is it landing?

As for Lawsuits.. those require pricey retainers to attorneys and evidence beyond a reasonable doubt the Chest was on someone's private land. Unless the Finder states, hey I found it at Mr. Brown's backyard located at 1234 Yellowstone Drive. That's not going to happen. I don't think there is a legal obligation to state where the Chest was found. There's another debate.

Damn, violence and suicides? The chase will not end well?
I guess I'll go put it back. LOL! Don't want none of that.

Kermit.

This isn't a normal lottery winner type situation. It's not like there is going to be another chance to win next week. Look at all the utterly crazy people involved in this. Look at all the people who have over-spent hunting and are desperate to find it to recoup their costs. Look at all the scammers trying to make a buck off the chase and the searchers involved in it. Look at all the people overly emotionally wrapped up in it. For every one of those people we know about, there are probably at least 10 or 20 times as many we don't know about yet, quietly flying under the radar until the treasure is finally found. Then they will come out of the woodwork with a vengeance. There has already been financial ruin. There has already been violence. There has already been at least one suicide. Those are just ripples in the pond. The tidal wave of crazy will break when the treasure is found.

You are wrong about the lawsuits. They will be filed. No attorney is needed. All you have to do is file some paperwork. Thousands of frivolous suites are filed every day over nothing by people barely literate enough to write their own names. You think it won't happen over ownership of the treasure? For civil suits there is no beyond a reasonable doubt requirement. Most or all of the lawsuits may eventually be dismissed, but the finder will almost certainly be tied up in court, possibly for years.

Like I said, it's going to be a zoo. Keep your gun handy if you are the finder. If you aren't the finder, then just pop some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show.

Man MD I might sue you for harshing my buzz
Maybe it will just show up in someone's vehicle, left by an anonymous stranger?
It could happen to you.
Unless Fenn is around to refute my claim, then there will be no lawsuits if I find it. First of all I found it on BLM land, 2nd I have never posted or read anything on any blog, 3rd - prove otherwise.
Good luck with that! I can afford attorneys and you can't and also filing a lawsuit without an attorney is going to result in me winning the judgement and winning my own attorney's legal fees.

So you will lose twice. My advice to you is to slither away and buy a lottery ticket because you have better odds than winning a lawsuit on a treasure hunt with no evidence for the location other than where i say it was found.
