Looks like the search area stays to the East of Highway 550 in New Mexico
Why believe the map shows the area where the chest is?

I don't think he's above playing a few mindgames with us but I don't think he'd flat out lie!



The map is in his book and says:



Forrest Fenn's hidden treasure is somewhere to he found within the highlighted region of the Rocky Mountains on this map."
@James; I would say Farmington is not in the shaded search area.
