The Nine Clue List - Guest - 06-08-2014

samsmith - I will be cleaning up this site in a few days. I would like to leave some of your comments here so please respond to this request: list what you believe are the 9 clues in the poem. You don't have to ruin the party and give your location or interpretation of these but they are welcome to. Here is an example http://www.chasechat.com/chat/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=1247. A new approach to the interpretation of the list is most welcome.

Nine clues deleted for lack of interest in discussion... Smile

Tomorrow it will be two weeks since I yielded to Wolf's condescending request and listed the nine clues as I see them...This was done for the purpose of discussion I was led to believe...Since apparently no one wishes to discuss the clues, I have edited and deleted them due to a lack of interest in discussion ... :

Clue 7 - I've done it tired and now I'm weak

I believe that one of the things Forrest is telling us, is that he worked and then was able to

RETIRE.

I am lead to believe that this is also one of the things he is saying, when he tells us to grab the chest and

RETIRE

1) go in peace

2) you will be wealthy enough to retire

3) you will leave the walking area by wheeled vehicle

No surprise there. No one ever thinks anyone else's interpretation of the clues is correct. Certainly nobody else has posted the same clue set I see in the poem, and I'm not sharing it. Who is right will be decided by who collects the chest. Till then, crowing about any particular interpretation of the nine clues is just so much chest beating.

@mdavis9...I partially agree with you here about the nine clues...The one by jdh quoted by astree I don't really view as a clue anyway...Was merely stating that astree may be on to something important in this line of the poem and to delve further...It isn't necessary to use derogatory terms such as crowing or bragging when a poster merely attempts to pass info to another that one believes important...Just as it is not necessary to preface or append every statement with an IMO...Everything stated on these blogs is only one persons opinion anyway, why worry about it?...If you don't believe what another says, pass it by without another thought...If you disagree you have the same right as others to express your own opinion...You don't have to be denigrating or unfriendly in doing so either...Supposed to be in here to enjoy the chatter and have fun...Don't be a party pooper... Smile

Sorry, Samsmith. I guess I was being a bit of a party pooper. I had just come out of the Sour Grapes thread and had been watching Stephanie self-destruct. I was in a bad mood. Didn't mean to take it out on you.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make very inarticulately is that no two people see the nine clues the same way. I don't particularly remember your set. I'm sure I looked at them, but they obviously didn't resonate with me since I don't remember them. Nobody else seemed to think your nine were especially worthy of discussion either. Not that that is any real surprise. Everyone seems to be locked into their own ideas and immune to changing their minds based on other people's ideas. I'm probably as guilty of that as anyone. I hear other people's solves and tend to think they are silly for the most part. There are only a few that kind of make sense to me. I guess the fact that nobody criticized or ridiculed your nine is the best you can hope for. Oops, sorry. Stating to sound party poopery again. I need to shake the bad mood Stephanie got me into. Read the Sour Grapes thread at your own risk. It's toxic. I'm staying out of it from now on.

So, when are you going to collect the treasure? You were quiet for so long that I assumed you were out in the field.
