Why Frosty? - crazyfamily - 05-12-2019

I’m calling out all those who believe that there is no understory in TTOTC.

If Forrest’s book is nothing but awe-shucks stories, why did he need to change Old Fred’s name to Frosty.

Please don’t say because of the freezer; Forrest was fired in the dessert section.

He was a mean and "cold"-hearted person?

Fred? Where have I heard that name before? I give up I am blind to this point.

Forrest ate a pie that belonged to the restaurant. Is that not reason enough to fire him? I thought the stories are simple. Do we now have to challenge Frosty’s intent for firing Forrest?

Soooo if Forrest could cheat and steal pie, could he do the same with a treasure hunt? Noooooo never....

What POSSIBLE difference does it make to solving the poem??

Hmm, Brbr, I don’t know. Why don’t you tell me what he meant by subtle hints sprinkled...or excellent research materials...or the hints in the book can help with the clues...or my thrill of the chase book is enough to lead the average searcher to the treasure chest.

Well, if "Frosty" was a subtle hint and his reason for the nickname was because he thought Fred was a mean person
Then it could relate to his meaning of warm waters.

Just a thought on how a hint could relate to the poem.

Well, yeah. Fred’s name was changed, and according to some here it was because he was cold hearted for doing his job as the manager of the Totem Cafe. So, should we change Forrest’s name too. Something that could encompass his badass, rebellious attitude...how about Fast Eddie.

Once I asked Forrest why he changed Old Fred to Frosty and Miss Mary to Grandma. I asked him if it was to protect the actual people he's referring to? He looked at me like I was on crack and said I was "nit-picking". IMO, they are not hints. Once again, this is an example of "so many searchers stomping on the ants while the elephants run by." IMO.
