Weekly Words / Question, May 13 - Blaze and Chest - astree - 05-13-2016

Quote:Mr. Fenn: How far is the chest located from the blaze? ~ casey

Casey, I did not take the measurement, but logic tells me that if you don’t know where the blaze is it really doesn’t matter. If you can find the blaze though, the answer to your question will be obvious. Does that help?f

because of recent comments, i had predicted to myself that Forrest was going to say something about sleeping every night by the popo agie river for 2 weeks while considering the what if's of life and gaining fortitude from the experience

guess i was wrong about that

So it's obvious and measurable.
If it's obvious, then look quickly down, no need to measure. That feels like something less than say 20 feet? Just trying to find any value here. Hmmmmm

Thanks astree...the words came much earlier this Friday morning..

I continue to see the idea that being "there" (at the correct location) will perhaps then bring the poem to "life"

**But, the name "casey", with the "c" not capitalized, reminded me both of the little engine Casey from the 1941 movie Dumbo...a 2-4-0 steam engine. Perhaps "Shut your engine off until Spring (12/4/2015 words) and...of course..."The Little Engine That Could" (Watty Piper).

OR...since I am going to Yankee Stadium tomorrow for "bat" day..."Casey at the Bat"...

"The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Mudville nine that day:
The score stood four to two, with but one inning more to play..."

"But there is no joy in Mudville-mighty Casey has struck out"
(Yikes!)
RP

there is some hidden information here

something "new" that i havent seen before

f may be throwing some different celors at us

also, i wondered why i was seeing black widow in the poem, now i think i know

sometimes this feels like a game of Chess, where you should Hedge your bets until you're sure of the right move

RP, I think Casey has struck out or is in the ninth inning of a solve. Could go either way. I think someone out there is getting close.

First base, second base, third base, home run?

http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/answered-questions/definitions-bases-%E2%80%94-and-were-not-talking-baseball

It does sound condescending "If you can find the blaze though" kind of like that quote from searching for Lewis and Clark "you couldn't find your ass with both hands and the lights on" (paraphrasing)

Hey, even if Casey strikes out, he's still at home plate. Catcher in the rye.
What was the other baseball scrapbook?
