Spice Portals - New Mexico
For Missourians, we've spent a lot of time in New Mexico since 2002. Here's some of our favorites, with emphasis on our answer to the state question: green

Lordsburg - Ramona's, on old 66 east. Breakfast & lunch only. Only about 8 tables, may have to wait. Green sauce on enchiladas, etc - mmm.

Springer - Elida's. Great posole

Taos - El Taoseno. Locals & tourists alike. I like the green chile stew. Sandra likes breakfast at Michael's.

Silver City - La Cocina. Mostly locals.

Albuquerque - The Frontier, across from UNM. More of an experience, most everything tasty despite assembly-line production.

Santa Fe - The Shed. Good, crowded, and 'proud' of their food.

Carlsbad - Kaleidoscoops. Ice cream parlor with excellent green chile cheeseburger.

Raton - El Matador. Didn't feel comfortable at La Cosina.

Lots of other good spots in other towns, and some towns we didn't find any place worth recommending.
