Forrest has confirmed two things: all you needs is the poem and a good map.

Let's think about this for a second. The poem and a map, that's it.

Within the poem, the thing that has everyone stumped is.."home of Brown."

Okay let's look to see in the poem how that helps us figure out what that is referring to.....nope don't see anything.

So, let's look at a map.

My point is this: Brown specifically, clear as day located on a map.

It's not referring to anyone in history, or Brown trout, or any crap like that. It's referring to something that can be labeled on a map. Brown Creek, Brown Canyon, Brown Lake, etc.

You're right, doesn't make sense. The sentence means can't use the poem to solve HOB (my opinion)

Or home of Brown is not located anywhere, except in the poem!

He said if you knew HOB you'd go right to it.

Meaning go right to the chest. So yes, if you know the meaning of home of Brown, then you could go right to the chest. It doesn't necessarily mean that the chest is located below a place called the home of Brown. But the location of the chest may be below the phrase "home of Brown" in the poem. In other words, it was "put in" the poem "below the home of Brown."
