It would have been a brave thing to do, a huge challenge, and he probably could have done it. But he chose not to for the sake of his family.
In recounting that story, or perhaps it was somewhere else, i believe he commented to the effect that being meek does not mean you are not brave. Rather, you have the power but you choose not to use it.

Meek can also be describing those that are obedient or timid, those that follow the rules and stay on marked paths. But Forrest is a maverick, there is no adventure in following the path that others have laid out. So no place for the meek may be describing a place that "from there" the obedient dare not tread.

Woohoo! Two out of three! I'm not feeling meek right now. Staying on topic and all. Hopefully, no one still thinks meek is Joseph meek, unless it's a reference to the Rocky Mountain quote joe meek said. I still think the "double negative" makes it "utopia" for the meek.

Is this the therapy room? Or being drunk at a bar somehow code related to the chase?

I have a twitter but y'all are my friends. And I never beat Fundy at anything but chess before so I'm sorta giddy. Lol!

Okay, sticking to the chase. Sooooooooo, no place for the meek we are talkin bout.

If you subscribe to Joseph Meek, you know he told his buddy that the Rocky Mountains was no place for them.

My first solve used this and took you right past "Childhood's End" in Colorado to Tarryall. If you "Tarryall" you don't "Tarryscant." So you don't go all the way to Tarryall. That was a fun search.
