Well Captain, definitely could be some type of blaze.
But to be honest, I find stuff like that everywhere when I'm out hiking here in Okla.

Cimarron Canyon is full of stuff like that.

Yeah, true. Found it in Oct with not enough time to search. Found it in a canyon while looking for an 'X'

That blaze appears to be man-made. Although some man-made "marks"
(such as hieroglyphs, petroglyphs, and the like) may endure a thousand years, I think that FF's blaze is not man-made. And I also think that it's
large enough to be seen and recognized (by someone who ACTUALLY,
TRUELY has a correct solve, rather than a lame "general" one) from a
few hundred feet away, without the need for binoculars, a telescope,
or similar magnifying device. Please note that a correct solve will involve
more than just what I mentioned in this message. A correct solve will
incorporate use of "a word that is key". Very clever, that FF. Brilliant,
in fact. Yeah, I'm teasing, just the way he does.

And while I'm being difficult, . . . did earlier clues from the poem lead you
to this "blaze"? If so, please reconcile some of the phrases from the
poem . . . such as "heavy loads" and "water high". Thanks in advance.

The clues did lead me to find this blaze and it's definitely man made and will last a long, long time.

As for some of the phrases, the canyon is a 'draw' with a creek and waterfalls that you can't paddle up.

I believe this blaze is a map of sorts.

RE: Possibly the blaze...
Yes the blaze in my understanding would be the heavy loads and water high
