There are a few references out there.

Hi Count, I did. As of the date I checked there weren't any memoir related documents.

Think there's any chance he could of sent a copy of his autobiography there or do you believe the autobiography that he included in the chest is the same as TTOTC?

He always says, "It doesn't matter who you are. It only matters who they think you are." Character vs reputation. Thinking the autobiography is going to be a lot more revealing and honest. Possibly containing the secret(s) and possibly revealing his true character. Obviously I could be wrong, it's just my suspicion.

I thought this chase was about a man revealing his true character. 85/25 LOL
I've found Forrest Fenn to be of genuine and refreshing character in a crazy world. Wish there were more like him.

Do you think the poem is included in his autobiography in the chest?
I believe he says that he put the autobiography in the bronze jars that he doesn't expect to be found for some time, that would be a good way to rejuvenate the chase in a 1000 years from now if the chase is forgotten about someway.

I have a theory that the poem IS the autobiography. The jar contains it's 'solve'.

RE: Poem out before the book
@anyone - This could be an interesting thread. Remember when FF told us to write our memoir & send it to the Library of Congress? He said everyone should ... so I assume that he did the same. Surely he did NOT send that crazy TTOTC to them.

Is all of the info there in the federal library available for viewing by the general public? FF could have sent them his autobiography. Yes? It would be interesting to read exactly what he sent to them, but I'm NOT sure how to request it. Anybody ...?

Dal was supposed to be working on FF's life story. What ever happened with that? FF must have given Dal the detailed version ... so where are those details? I was looking forward to reading it.

You might be able to find the information you're looking for the link below. It should have a copy of the website page before the book was released.

Also if you're lucky you can catch copies of other website pages where things were supposedly quoted and then erased. It all depends on the timing as to when the Wayback machine made itd copies

Edit: I just checked the April 2009 copy. Don't see the poem but I do see this on its links page ( connected to Fenns character )

Edit2

Still not seeing Resource page as of Nov 2010

RE: Poem out before the book
I don't know about released online, but I'm sure a few of Fenn's close family and friends read or heard the poem well before the book was released.

Who knows? Maybe one of Fenn's grandkids might have seen the original poem with notes, went and got the chest, and is just sitting it out waiting for Fenn to pass before having a "friend" claim they found the chest and split the money. All this before the book was released. No wonder nobody has found it yet. (Remember Fenn did say he is missing his "notes" for the poem, thinking its in his fishing box. Well maybe it's not "missing")

lol that's why there's a halting point... figure out a solve where you can walk to it... if it's not there, go home and you gave it your best shot... don't look back

there is another letter missing

that would give the poem a nice round number of 600 letters

the hint may connect to a smile if you're beginning below the home of Brown

you'd have to be willing to cross the street though

don't let the hairy spiders and their webs scare you. just lead the way

Oh the spider I see.

How about Egypt and sand water de'Nile under the home of Brown?

Top, right? Bottom left.
